Meryl Stringell studied at Camberwell School of Art, graduating with a joint honours degree in Fine Art and Silversmithing. She has lived in East Sussex for many years and with the South Downs as a backcloth, her oil paintings reflect her love of the surrounding countryside with its colour, space and light. She works from a basic sketch or idea which evolves on the canvas towards abstraction. She has exhibited in Suffolk, Kent , London and Sussex.
